Coconut-raspberry porridge

Hello everyone!

I thought a lot about which recipe I should show you first – then I got the idea that a good start for a blog is like a good start into the day! Therefore, I’ll show you a breakfast recipe first. Breakfast is the favourite dish of most people, because it is the most important one – and they’re right! If you have a nourishing breakfast, then your blood sugar stabilizes, your metabolism rises and you get enough energy for the rest of the day (which is very useful for either school or work). Furthermore, if you have a good breakfast, you tend to eat more fruit and have a more balanced diet.



The breakfast recipe I chose to show you is a delicious porridge. Porridges are the perfect start into a day, because they give you the essential nutriments you need. One perk is that oats contain a lot of energy due to their complex carbs. Your stomach takes longer to split up the carbohydrate chains and therefore your body gets constantly provided with energy. Oats also help you to lower your cholesterol level, while providing you with main vitamins, minerals and proteins – so perfect for starting your day!

This porridge is very easy to make – most recipes you find nowadays have a lot of ingredients, which gives you the impression that they take a long time to prepare and discourages you to make them. This recipe here is simple and has few ingredients. With the coconut and the raspberries you get a fruity taste, which gives you a happy start into the day! You can easily adjust the recipe to whatever you like by adding other foods, for example raisins, coconut flakes or another type of yoghurt!


Coconut-raspberry porridge

tbs: tablespoon
tsp: teaspoon


  • 40 g oats
  • 10 tbs coconut milk
  • 100 ml water
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tbs coconut yoghurt
  • Raspberries
  • Coconut


First pour the oats, the coconut milk and the water together into a pan over the cooker. Once the mixture starts to boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for six to eight minutes. The sooner you turn off the heat, the creamier it is; the choice is all yours how creamy you want your porridge to be! When you turned off the heat, add honey and stir until everything is nicely mixed. Pour the yoghurt into the mixture and top your porridge with coconut and raspberries.
